Prayer for Miracles–A miracle is something beyond the usual
laws of nature. At different points in our lives, we need such
supernatural interventions to get out of some mess. The Bible
is full of examples of miracles.
Miraculous Deliverance: Israel's exodus from Egypt was by a
“And now, O Lord our God, that hast brought Thy people forth
out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten
Thee renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done
wickedly” (Daniel 9:15).
Peter was freed from prison by an angel.
“And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him , and a
light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and
raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off
from his hands” (Acts 12:7).
Miraculous Provisions: Israel was provided with manna in
the wilderness for 40 years.
“And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given
them of the corn of heaven. Man did eat angels' food: he sent
them meat to the full” (Psalm 78:24-25).
Thousands of men, women and children were fed with just 5
loaves of bread and 2 fish.
“And they that had eaten were about five thousand men,
beside women and children” (Matthew 14:21).
Encounters with Supernatural Beings: Manoah and his wife
were visited by an angel who gave them news of the birth of
their son Samson.
“For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven
from off the altar, that the angel of the Lord ascended in the
flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and
fell on their faces to the ground” (Judges 13:20).
Mary met Angel Gabriel who gave her news of the coming of
her Son Jesus.
“And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art
highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among
women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his
saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this
should be” (Luke 1:28-29).
Prayer for Miracles
Thanksgiving: Father, thank You for encouraging records of
Your miraculous interventions of the past which give us
confidence to trust You for our lives today.
“And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the Lord be with us,
why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles
which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the Lord bring us
up from Egypt? but now the Lord hath forsaken us, and
delivered us into the hands of the Midianites” (Judges 6:13).
Description of Situations: Lord, unless You help us, no man
can. We believe that no matter how tight and tough life is
around us, You are able. We ask, o Lord, that You show
Yourself strong on our behalf in Jesus name.
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole
earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose
heart is perfect toward Him…” (2 Chronicles 16:9).
Specific Interventions: Father, cover for me where my efforts
are insufficient in Jesus name. Put to shame the expectations
of Satan to see me stranded in Jesus name. Provide wisdom
out of my confusions in the choices before me in Jesus name.
“For in Thee, O Lord, do I hope: Thou wilt hear, O Lord my
God” (Psalm 38:15).
Father, I need You to bless the barren with children, like You
did for Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, Hannah and Elizabeth in
“He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a
joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord” (Psalm 113:9).
Turn every mental wilderness into fruitful lands in Jesus name.
“When Jesus then lifted up His eyes, and saw a great
company come unto Him, He saith unto Philip, Whence shall
we buy bread, that these may eat? And this He said to prove
him: for He Himself knew what He would do” (John 6:5-6).
Let everyone in need of a gainful employment find in Jesus
name. Let single brothers and sisters who are eligible for
marriage find responsible and godly partners in Jesus name.
Let the sick be healed, and the oppressed be delivered in
Jesus name. Let every heart's desires be granted miraculously
in Jesus name.
